Slow to print on network printer

I have recently installed Bitdefender Total Security 2018 on a Win 10 Pro laptop and I have noticed a problem with printing.

When I send a print job to my (wired) network printer it takes a very long time to start. There is a delay in the small printer status window popping up, and when it does apperar it says it is unable to get printer status information. The print job does start, but only after a very long delay.

I have Bitdefender running in Autopilot mode. Is there something I should change to improve the printing performance?

You might be missing a rule for SNMP status traffic from the printer. I had to manually create a Firewall rule for all applications to enable UDP outbound traffic to the remote IP address <printer> port 161 (SNMP).
