Windows Updates won't install with BD installed

I am often installing Windows 10 updates through the Windows "Insider" program -- Insiders receive updates prior to the general public for "testing" purposes.  The problem is that with BD installed the builds and / or updates often will crash or just not complete the install.  I can uninstall BD and the install then runs fine.


Is there a way to turn BD totally "off" while the installs are running, and then turn it back on afterwards? I tried just just deactivating the AV, but that didn't seem to work.  I know I can uninstall, but that is a genuine bother, because then on re-install it goes through the entire update process again.
