BD 2018 slows Thunderbird Email


Win10 Professional, Dell Optiplex Desktop,  500GB SSD hard drive, 32GB RAM, I5 CPU.


After installing Bit Defender 2018 family pack, when I write an email, Thunderbird periodically becomes unresponsive for 10 seconds or so.


I also have Malwarebytes Premium.  Are they incompatible?  If it's a choice of BD or BD or Malwarebytes I'll keep Malwarebytes.


Don't see any way to just turn off BD to see if that's the problem.  Don't see any way to exclude Thunderbird/email scan from BD. I did turn off the spam filter in BD.

    I would first try disabling MBAM from within the console or from the system tray icon, and see if that resolves it.

    Some people do run both BD and MBAM Premium without any issues, I'm just sure if they had any issues with T-Bird slow downs.


    I personally just use the free version of MBAM and do a on demand scan once in awhile.
