Bitdefender CPU usage is abnormally high

Bitdefender is at all times using a minimum of 30-40% right after boot. This however often goes above 60-80% as time goes on. I can’t even imagine what it would be using so much CPU for, and it stops me form working and playing most games as they can barely run anymore. What can I do to fix it?

Since its a performance related issue, its always better to collect diagnostic logs from your device for further investigation the issue.

• Once you collect this diagnostic logs, you can share it with Bitdefender team descibing the issue via the support portal: https://www.bitdefender.com/support/contact-us.html?last_page=ConsumerCategory

Bitdefender team will reply back to your email with the status of the issue.

Sorry for the inconvenience caused to you. As per your stated system configuration, bitdefender should run very smoothly in your case. But since you are facing issue, I would request you to gather 2 types of logs :

https://www.bitdefender.com/consumer/support/answer/8919/ (logs created when bitdefender is already installed on your pc)

https://www.bitdefender.com/consumer/support/answer/1922/ (logs created when system may be infected with malware)

First log is the generalized log and the second log is for ruling out the issue of your system getting infected with coinminer malware which uses a lot of system resources.

Kindly attach both the logs & drop an email to bitdefender support at bitsy@bitdefender.com & briefly explain your issue.

Response may be delayed due to less staff and covid19. Rest be assured, they will reply back asap.
