Hotel Portals rendering BD on Win 10 unusable

I was recently travelling and my laptops would complain every time I connected to the internet about the hotel portals. After clicking the not now button a crap load of times, I resorted to uninstalling BD. This was maddening, and severely diminishes the purpose of me using BD. I couldn't find a way to turn this ridiculous behavior off. And before you ask, I have updated and rebooted each laptop in an attempt to resolve.
I've found other posts stating similar behavior from 2019. Does that mean that this has existed since then and not resolved?
