Parental Control for Elderly Parent?

My mother has some dementia onsetting. She's still fairly with it but got into a bad situation with a pop-up asking her to call a number. Unfortunately, she did and gave the bad guys access. All has been resolved as far as banking, connection wiping her laptop and I went ahead and purchased her a new middle-of-the-road laptop.

The laptop that I purchase is Windows S mode. Dare I leave it in S mode or will that frustrate her beyond belief? Or, would setting up Bitdefender Parental Control be advised? Maybe installing Bitdefender would solve a lot of this. She had Defender as her protection on the previous laptop. Just curious about your thoughts.

I apologize if this topic has been addressed but I didn't find anything specific to an older adult to be set up with parental control. Thanks.
