I didn't see a thread like this, unless I missed it. This information has been posted before, but maybe this list will help those who are considering trying Password Manager to know what they can hopefully import from their password managers, apps, into BD Password Manager.

It sounds like an import option is being developed for Roboform.

As of now, Kaspersky import hasn't worked for some of us. Maybe that will be next on the dev's list?

    Hello @Scott,

Thank you for your help, you are right, we should have this information available in the dedicated section, therefore I have included the article in the following thread: https://community.bitdefender.com/en/discussion/90079/new-support-articles-for-password-manager/p1?new=1

I will post more updates as soon as they are available.

In regards to the import from Kaspersky, as a workaround, have you tried to import passwords into a supported browser (Chrome, Firefox, Edge) and then import into Password Manager?

    Best regards

Thank you Alexandru, for your kind words and thoughtfulness of more up front information regarding Password Manager on the more visible thread/forum page.

That's an interesting workaround (creative) to consider. I'll give it a try 🙂

Edit: I did try importing into Chrome, but it wanted a .csv file. I also tried to import into LastPass, but of the great list of Import options, Kaspersky was not listed. Even though Kaspersky gives you 2 options in creating an export file, their kpm_vault.edb and a text (Notepad) file, simply re-naming the text file to .csv does not "rearrange" the text file into a csv format, like an Excel file does.

I think Kaspersky just want to make it really hard as to have people give up and stick with them? Maybe there is a text to csv conversion, which I did see with a Google search, but it looked like it was for a different use, a company format?

  • My experience with import to Password Manager (build 26.0.12.56) from Chrome (Version 99.0.4844.51) :

    1. Be sure to rename your export-file from Chrome to "Bitdefender.csv"
    2. Change the structure of the exportfile from Chrome to the one you see when exporting a few manually typed entries from Bitdefender Password Mgr. You 'll need an extra column in front filled with "Website" and some empty ones at the end, and I also renamed the header row to be identical to the Bitdefender-exportfile.

Let me know if you need more information.
