Evaluating Bitdefender AV Plus: 2 questions (about email and ransomware protection)
Hi there!
I just started evaluating Bitdefender Antivirus Plus, potentially migrating from Norton and Kaspersky. I just need AV protection (no need for VPN, password manager or firewall, use other solutions).
- I use Outlook, but can't find any bitdefender options for it. I would like to have email protection (AV and antispam). Wouldn't that be available in AV Plus?
- About ransomware protection: how does that work? Are any files transfered from my machine to the cloud? Does anything leave my PC so it might be recovered later?
Thank you!

Hello.
As for the function / item of the total security license, if it is enabled in the item of protection → anti-spam, I think that it has been added to the tab browse column at the top of Outlook. ..

Yes, that's was the problem. AV Plus doesn't come with antispam. Talked to support and changed my eval to total security. Thank you!

As StealthNet mentioned, AV Plus does not include Antispam. You would have to upgrade to Internet Security or Total Security.
As far as ransomware protection/remediation. The files stay on your PC, they are not stored in the cloud, they are protected by that feature.
From this link:
What is Bitdefender Ransomware Remediation and how does it work?
Bitdefender’s Ransomware Remediation backs up your files such as documents, pictures, videos, or music to make sure that they are protected from being damaged or lost in case of ransomware encryption.
Each time a ransomware attack is detected, Bitdefender will block all processes involved in the attack and start the remediation process, while also notifying the user. This way, you will be able to recover the content of your entire files without paying for any asked ransom.
