Potentially unwanted apps detected
Windows 10 Home with all currently available updates.
"Process Hacker" had been installed on my system for months without any problem. But today, out of the blue, Bitdefender flagged it as a "Potentially unwanted app" and quarantined it. I chose to restore the executable to a different folder (only choice available). But when I tried to move the executable back to its original home folder, the action was not allowed. Nit even with Administrative Privileges. I had to reboot my system to be able to actually move the executable back to its original home folder.
"Process Hacker" is a safe application. Good references can be found on the following pages:

Hello @Robert2 and welcome to the Community!
I would recommend the steps described in the article below (if not already applied):
If this doesn't work, more information might be required for troubleshooting and I would advise you to get in touch with our engineers by choosing one of the contact methods available here:
https://www.bitdefender.com/consumer/support/
This way, they can also investigate the reason for which the app was flagged as unwanted / malicious.
Let us know how it goes.

I have the same problem. Started for me this week too. I haven't been able to restore the files. Can't create the exception unless the files exists, and restore fails due to permission or message about file in use. I've had multiple files removed by Bitdefender, so I really need it fixed and and complete reinstall again. I've reported this as a false positive but not word yet if they'll fix it.

Kindly have a look at the virustotal link for the respective software
The file is detected as PUA by majority of vendors and hence the detection will stay.
Additionally, every vendor have their own rules to classify a particular file as PUA or PUP. A file that may be a PUA or PUP for one vendor may not be the same for other.
In order to set an exclusion in bitdefender kindly first disable the protection components in bitdefender (https://www.bitdefender.com/consumer/support/answer/28557/). Afterwards, set the respective software in bitdefender exclusion list (https://www.bitdefender.com/consumer/support/answer/13427/) and then re enable the protection components.
If the issue persists, kindly contact the bitdefender support by visiting https://www.bitdefender.com/consumer/support/
Note : If you will restore files from quarantine while bitdefender protection service are enabled, the files will not get restored. Because everytime you will try to restore files, bitdefender real time protection will quarantine the file again.

Hi, that's not really a fitting answer since Bitdefender keeps removing stuff due to the "Advanced" Threat Defense.
So advanced, I'm ready to contact support for a refund on a (2 year?) license to the program.
I'm sorry, but if I pay for the software, I expect better support than "figure it out because we can't."
I had to fight with this crap at 2 in the freakin' morning and that is NOT acceptable. Not only was my existing software wiped out, but all I needed to do was elevate something as system because even Windows doesn't know how to set its own darned tasks without a password for the system account (as incredibly dumb as that sounds, I know).
Process Hacker is used by many professionals, and like all software, at some point Bitdefender needs to take notice that software for IT professionals is as important as every other false positive they need to fix.
I tried VERY hard not to swear during every sentence. Again, at 2 am and with work in the early morning, mind you. Incredibly furious.

In advanced threat defense you can only exclude the executable files (.exe) and not the complete drive or folder. Setting up exclusion in advanced threat defense is different as compared to setting up exclusion in antivirus section.
Kindly have a look at below stated link as to how to setup exclusion in advanced threat defense
