    Hello.

I think this is a question only for malware research engineeers at Bitdefender Labs.

So, you should contact Bitdefender Consumer Support by chat, telephone or e-mail:

    Regards.

  • An infected floppy disk or USB drive connected to a computer will transfer when the drive's VBR is read, then modify or replace the existing boot code. The next time a user tries to boot their desktop, the virus will be loaded and run immediately as part of the master boot record.

You should be fine if you are using an antivirus. For example, Bitdefender has several layers of defenses, I think the scan flash drives feature (enabled) and Advanced Threat Defense module (that identifies anomalies in apps behavior and correlates different suspicious behaviors) would be relevant for this..

In simple terms, if something is trying to apply unauthorized changes to the system, it gets a slap on the wrist.
