How can I trust an antivirus software if the exclusion doesn't work? What else doesn't work?

I don't care about what Bitdefender think of crypto, I was about to paid for 3 years on a family plan, I'm glad I use the free trials, or I would have been rip-off.

I spent 3 hours trying to add exclusion to be able to reinstall Nicehash after Bitdefender destroyed it even if it was already in the exclusion.

It's now uninstalled and will look for an alternative where exclusion properly works.

For antivirus exclusion, you will have to disable realtime protection in bitdefender (https://www.bitdefender.com/consumer/support/answer/28557/) and then install nicehash software. Afterwards, set the nicehash folder as an exclusion and finally re-enable the protection in bitdefender.

For advanced threat defense exclusion, you will have to disable realtime protection in bitdefender (https://www.bitdefender.com/consumer/support/answer/28557/) and then install nicehash software. Afterwards, set all .exe files in nicehash folder as an exclusion and finally re-enable the protection in bitdefender.

Note: For antivirus component, folder exclusion will work but for advanced threat defense, folder exclusion will not work and you will have to set all .exe files in nicehash folder as an exclusion.

I will be going further and closing this post since currently there is nothing additional that can be done from bitdefender end related to nicehash software. The detection will stay and will not be removed. If you want to use the software kindly follow the above stated solution that was provided regarding setting up the exclusions in antivirus component and advanced threat defense component.
