VS2022 debug folder blocked

From one moment to another, when changing a little bit on a program i did build myself, and wich is working for a few years well, Bitdefender found some malware in it (even i did run it a fex times before this happend), and blocked the debug folder for this program. When running it in release mode it just works fine, no problem. But i can't run it anymore because Bitdefender blocked a file (or folder) wich i can not deblock. So i can't further debug the changes i made...

I tried to exclude the program, no succes. I tried to restore is, no succes. I tried to remove the file, no succes.

At this time the folder is empty, but i can't write to it, even after a reboot...

Any ideas?

Thanks!

  • Hello @dreke and welcome to the Community!

Most likely, the file is being blocked by the Advanced Threat Prevention module. This proactive detection technology continuously monitors the apps running on the device, looking for threat-like actions. Each of these actions is scored and an overall score is computed for each process. To find out if this is blocking the file, turn off Advanced Threat Defense by following the steps below:

    1. Click Protection on the navigation menu on the Bitdefender interface.

    2. In the ADVANCED THREAT DEFENSE pane, click Open.

    3. Go to the Settings window and click switch next to Bitdefender Advanced Threat Defense.

Note: To keep your system protected from ransomware and other threats, I recommend you to disable Advanced Threat Defense for as little time as possible.

Next, fill out the form below and submit a sample for analysis to Bitdefender Labs, to rule out a potential incorrect detection:

Once confirmed, false alarms are corrected within hours.

  • Hello.

First, take screenshot(s) of the issue,

create a log file on your Windows device using Bitdefender Support Tool, by following these steps:

    https://www.bitdefender.com/consumer/support/answer/1733/

    and

create a log file on your Windows device using BDsysLog, by following these steps:

    https://www.bitdefender.com/consumer/support/answer/1922/

Next, contact Bitdefender Consumer Support by e-mail:

    https://community.bitdefender.com/en/discussion/91918/bitdefender-websites-and-bitdefender-consumer-support-contacts

with short description of the issue.

After that, you will get an automated reply by the Bitdefender Customer Care Team, with your ticket number.

Now, in reply to that automated reply, you can send the screenshot(s) you already took and the log files you already created in the first step.

Since you are all done, just wait for the support engineers to investigate your issue and find a solution to fix the issue.

Remember that the screenshot(s) and the log files will help a lot to the support engineers for better and faster investigation on your issue and finding a solution.

    Regards.

  • Did not get answer from Consumer Support until now.

But after a complete scan there where a few issues, those where repaired, but 5 where not repaired, and Bitdefender did not quarantaine or delete them, so i deleted all those files, and i made a systemscan for new, after the system was clean..

Now i did run my code, and again the same problem. I renamed the outputfile, and a new notification came up:

So it looks like i have written some suspicous code, but i don't have a clou for what it is.

And there is no information on the www what is Gen.Variant.Tedy.186113.

    Anyone an idea? Thanks!
