Anchor free Inc

Ran task manager an I see that Anchorfree.Inc is running, file location is in bit. vpn but I run my other computers with bit vpn and don't see this file exe. ? Is this an update, is bitdefender Inc with Anchorfee.com? Or is this malware?

As far as I know, it's the data processing service used by BD VPN to report random IP addresses etc to help BD VPN to improve the service. It probably randomly runs to send the information, as I have VPN running now, and I don't see it.

Despite this, Bitdefender’s privacy policy is fairly basic, to say the least, but it does outline what data it uses and how:

 ‘We collect for this service only randomly generated or hashed user and device IDs, IP addresses, and randomly generated tokens to establish a VPN connection for the sole purpose of providing the VPN service. For this service, we use AnchorFree as data processor who processes data on behalf of Bitdefender in accordance with Bitdefender's instructions and for the sole purpose of providing VPN services to users.'

Years ago, it seemed we had a discussion regarding if the free version tracked more information than the Premium, but I don't remember if it was conclusive, or if it's all the same now.

Maybe @Alexandru_BD or @Mike_BD can confirm or correct any of the information I've posted.
