Web Protection Keeps Turning Off. What Should I Do?

So I guess web protection uses a vpn to filter out bad sites or what not. I am using a different VPN than bit defender and so Bit VPN is never on. But I get reminders to turn web protection on and It allows me too , independent of the Bit VPN . So If Web Protection will turn on and off without BIT VPN running , Why doesn't it just stay on ? Is there an option to leave it on by default regardless of vpn status? Thanks.

Thanks for the quick response. I am using IOS so , The description in on the App for WP is misleading then.

Still it would be nice to be able to default WP on or VPN on and not get reminders about not being protected. Its annoying .

I am using Android 12, and the web protection stops working without even showing any warning notifications . The accessibility service and the bitdefender app says its on and yet it doesn't work. This usually happens when the bitdefender app itself or the system accessibility service app updates . I have already excluded bitdefender from all battery optimisations.
