virus just from having an email in the deleted folder

i had an email sitting in the deleted folder and suddenly for no reason a virus was activated, i didn't integrate with the email at all didn't even open it as far as i remember, am i safe or should i format it was moved to quarantine, it makes no sense for it to even happen as i was using the outlook app it should not activate viruses even if an email is opened

Whatever it is, Bitdefender obviously caught it and blocked it. This is what the detection means. The virus was not activated at all, the infected email entered the inbox or spam folders, the antivirus detected it as potentially malicious and quarantined it. Bitdefender will keep it there for 30 days and then delete it completely.

I would conclude that your PC is SAFE. 😎

Also you can follow the below stated steps to eliminate any other possibility of malware comeback

1) Restart PC in safe mode: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/start-your-pc-in-safe-mode-in-windows-92c27cff-db89-8644-1ce4-b3e5e56fe234

2) Open run command and run below command one by one:

temp ,delete all the files in the folder

%temp% ,delete all the files in folder

prefetch ,delete all the files in folder

3) Restart your PC in general mode by unticking the option that you selected to run the system in safe mode and then click apply.
