In firewall settings, can someone recommend using passive detection mode or not? Which one is more secure?

As per description, It is recommended to use passive detection mode only if there is a conflict with DHCP software.
Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) is a client/server protocol that automatically provides an Internet Protocol (IP) host with its IP address and other related configuration information such as the subnet mask and default gateway.

I think one of the methods is to temporarily disable the firewall to see if the DHCP functionality is restored. If the DHCP starts working correctly, it indicates that the firewall might be blocking DHCP traffic.
