fix a setting

i was duped into letting some fake tech support person onto my computer. With me watching, he went into the bitdefend settings and clicked something that used window 95 settings. ( i am using window 11) not really sure what he did, but it was within 2-3 clicks. i want to undo whatever he did. any suggestions.?

    Hi @dan cl

The only way he could have made any adjustment for Windows 95, was that he right-clicked the Bitdefender desktop icon/Properties, and set it to run in Compatibility mode. I would look into that, as it may be just a simple couple of clicks for you to uncheck that option. It also makes me wonder if you were having some sort of display issues? If you were having issues with BD, to begin with, then I would run a repair. (see link below).

    Kind regards,

    dan cl just a guy

That is what he adjusted but adjusting Bitdefender was unnecessary since i was calling for tech support for a router issue. in an abundance of caution, i did a complete reinsall of Bitdefender Playing with my anti virus made me concerned that he was doing something unsavory.

i think i link by accident other than my router manufacuter. i did a text support chat and then the tech had someone call. it all seemed legit until he started doing things unrelated to my issue

Thanks for posting back @dan cl Hopefully the router issue is resolved and you're up and running smoothly. And a complete reinstall of Bitdefender is worth the peace of mind in knowing that it is functioning properly.

    Have a great weekend :)
