Win 11 Program Not Working Correctly

edited July 2023 in Utilities

Sorry if I put this in the wrong category. I am new to this.

After yesterday's 12 July 2023 "Windows 11" update. I can no longer load "Safepay" within "Bitdefender" and instead from newly installed 'Start Menu' dated from yesterday as well. I prefer to have it working in "Bitdefender" over using the 'start menu'. Also browser performance is more sluggish in loading.

I've done and didn't fix it: Click 'Privacy' on the navigation menu on the Bitdefender interface. In the 'Safepay' pane, click 'Settings'. In the 'Settings' tab, turn on the switches next to 'Safepay notifications' and 'Automatically open Bitdefender Safepay'.

My configuration -

"Bitdefender Total Security | Build 27.0.14.77" within the program itself.

"Bitdefender Safepay" | version 27.0.14.77 | Chromium Embedded Framework (CEF) version 111.0.0.1 | Last update: (blank)

In 'Start Menu' -

"Bitdefender Total Security | Build 27.0.7.34" Added 12/07/2023

"Bitfender Safepay" Added 12/07/2023

C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Bitdefender Security

Edition Windows 11 Pro

Version 22H2

Installed on ‎10/‎02/‎2023

OS build 22621.1992

Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22644.1000.0

Thank you

    Hello.

    -- STEP 1 --

Repair Bitdefender, by following these steps:

    -- STEP 2 --

If the instructions from Step 1 didn't help, uninstall the Bitdefender program using the Uninstall Tool:

It will completely remove the program.

Next, reinstall Bitdefender from your Bitdefender Central account and see if the issue has been solved, as reinstalling the program usually solves the issues.

    -- STEP 3 --

If the instructions from Step 2 didn't help, follow the instructions in this step.

First, take screenshot(s) of the issue

and create a log file on your Windows device using Bitdefender Support Tool, by following these steps:

Next, contact Bitdefender Consumer Support by e-mail:

with short description of the issue.

After that, you will get an automated reply by the Bitdefender Customer Care Team, with your ticket number.

Now, in reply to that automated reply, you can send the screenshot(s) you already took and the log file you already created in the first step.

Since you are all done, just wait for the support engineers to investigate your issue and find a solution to fix the issue.

Remember that the screenshot(s) and the log file will help a lot to the support engineers for better and faster investigation on your issue and finding a solution.

    Regards.

    Hello @Wolfenstein,

If you had a separate icon for Safepay and this is no longer displayed after the Windows update, do the following: click on the Windows button > search for Safepay > right click > open file location > right click the shortcuts in the folder that opened > show more options > send to > desktop create shortcut.

Let us know if this works for you.

    Regards

Hello, Cristian here, from the development team.

Looks like you cannot open Safepay from neither Start Menu or the main interface. If you open Windows Explorer, navigate to C:\Program Files\Bitdefender Security App\Safepay you will notice a file named obk.exe (this is the Safepay main executable).

If you double-click it, does Safepay start? I'm trying to determine if is a glitch in path configuration after update (so Safepay is ok but the path is broken), or is it really Safepay that does not start.

    Thanks, Cristian
