  • Hello,

The application’s permissions can also be removed from an Android device. I recommend that you use the App Lock feature to block the phone settings if this is the case. App Lock helps you block unwanted access to apps by setting a security PIN access code. The PIN code you set must be at least 4 digits long, but not more than 8, and is required every time you want to access the selected restricted apps. Alternatively, on devices that support fingerprint authentication, a fingerprint confirmation can be used instead of the configured PIN code.

Additionally, here are some strategies you can try to prevent this from happening:

    1. Leverage app lock:

    • Bitdefender Parental Control offers an "App Lock" feature that lets you password-protect specific apps, including settings. Enable this feature and choose a strong PIN or fingerprint that your kids wouldn't know. This adds an extra layer of security before they can access settings and disable the parental control app.

    2. Use a launcher replacement:

    • Consider using a launcher app like Kids Place or Zero Launcher. These launchers allow you to customize the home screen and app drawer, restricting access to certain apps, including settings and Bitdefender Parental Control. This creates a more controlled environment for your kids, making it harder for them to bypass restrictions.

    3. Hide the app icon:

    • Some launchers allow you to hide specific app icons from the home screen. This way, your kids won't even see the Bitdefender Parental Control icon and be less likely to try disabling it.

    4. Monitor app usage:

    • Keep an eye on your kids' app usage through Bitdefender's Parental Control dashboard. This can reveal if they try to uninstall or disable the app, prompting you to intervene and potentially have a conversation about responsible device usage.
