Hello all,

I have a problem with Chrome where I get suggestions for search results from gotosearchnow.com in big green or blue highlights at the beginning of my search results and I need to scroll down to find the Chrome results, which is rather annoying, however now sometimes it completely overlies my google results.

I have attached a screen shot.

Is there a way of removing this?

I am using win 10.

Kindly check if the following steps help you:

1) Open the Run command and execute the following commands one by one:

temp – delete all the files in the folder.

%temp% – delete all the files in the folder.

prefetch – delete all the files in the folder.

2) Reset your Google Chrome web browser:  https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/3296214?hl=en

3) Reset the Windows host file to default. You can find instructions here:  https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/how-to-reset-the-hosts-file-back-to-the-default-c2a43f9d-e176-c6f3-e4ef-3500277a6dae

Welcome to the Bitdefender Forums. Gotosearchnow.com malware is a browser hijacker. Bitdefender does not detect nuisance browser hijackers because the user installed them, knowingly or unknowingly. This class of browser hijackers poses no threat to your computer, but they are a nuisance, as you have discovered.

Hi,

@Flexx I think it won't be really necessary for the user to go through all those steps, if this is a browser hijacker he can simply right click in the address bar, choose "Manage Search Engines" and remove it from there, there is no need to lose all the browser settings in order to get rid of it.
