Unreal Engine 4 Unlocker
Hi,
I've been trying to play The Ascent, but on an ultrawide monitor it is basically unplayable as you can't get the right FOV. The recommended fix was to install Universal Unreal Engine 4 Unlocker. It played nicely for quite a while but then suddenly Bitdefender flagged it as malware and quarantined both the unlocker program and the game.
I was wondering if anyone can tell me if this is a false positive generated by one program modifying another 'in-flight' or if the unlocker is or has malware? Or any other way of managing FOV?
Thanks

Hello,
I would recommend contacting the Support teams, so they can identify what type of detection this is. You can get in touch with the Bitdefender engineers by choosing one of the contact channels listed here:
State your contact reason, then choose from the available contact channels, chat, phone and email/ticket. Chat would be the fastest way to reach them.Let us know how it goes.

Hi,
Submitted the files and the advice was to set an exception in the Advanced Threat Detection engine.

Thanks for following up. So, did the exception resolve this?

Kinda - I followed the BD guide but obviously didn't get it quite right as the first time I used it again I triggered the advanced threat defence module again. I tried using the option to put everything back from quarantine but that didn't quite work either as the program wouldn't run then! However, it did add the correct exception to the list. So reinstalling UUUE4U in the same location seems to have fixed it and made the game playable again with a decent FOV.
