[escalated] Seprate Build Update From Virus Def. Updates
I wonder if Bitdefender could somehow implement a separate download for build updates, apart from the virus definition updates.
If it was a different tab option for build updates, or even (I know, some of you will gasp..lol 
) if it was a pop up/notification once a week, notifying of a new build, until it was installed.
I've seen this mentioned in some threads, so I thought I would make it more official by posting it here. I didn't see topic listed here, unless I missed it

I would like two different settings and I would like to set them like this:
Virus Def Updates: silent update
Program Update: prompt before downloading
As it is now, I have tried setting the update processing rules to prompt before downloading but it also prompts for virus definitions which is too much. You will receive a popup every hour.
It would be very nice to be able to control when the program update takes place.0 -

Absolutely, I love that idea. My thought is if some wants to update to the newest build, for some of the fixes that they really need, fine, but for those of us who have thing working, can at least monitor to see if there are any issues with the new build. With the separate options, as you show above, we have that option.0 -
@Charyb: Yeah but Protection is the prime concern, which the Bitdefender is already ahead of it and regarding features its a long debate, can't discuss here.

Yes, you are right. I wonder if it's an added expense that Bitdefender may not be intrestead in, in that wouldn't they have to set up different download servers to handle the build/program updates?

@ONT- You must have had a chance to read what I posted before I removed it. I don't want to compare features of one av to another. I know which one is superior otherwise, BD wouldn't have been on my machine since version 2007. The reason I removed the contents of that post was to try to prevent this.
It would make me happy if BD brought back the expert settings that were incorporated in BD 2011. I can see the desire in many of the feature requests. I have had BD on my machine for many years and was very happy with it until 2012. In 2012 they stripped it down to the silent security theme, not considering that many of us wouldn't be happy without the expert settings. Being stripped down as much as it has been, any suggestion a person makes is bound to be found in other av's. Prompt for action when there is a detection is one of them (which I am all for). Bitdefender already had, at one time, what is being requested for the current and future versions. I don't compare BD with any other company. The detection rate, cleaning of infections, and speed cannot be matched.0 -

That was going to be my, now if you want, next Feature Request...maybe, of bring back the option for advanced configuration settings, also including the Firewall, as in 2011. ONT has mentioned as such in different ways, as well as Rampant and others here, in different ways shapes and forms, Including: http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?showtopic=35631, http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?showtopic=36315, http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?showtopic=36404 with maybe even the feature to see last file scanned, http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?showtopic=36563 and so many others that people have posted.
Yet, can this then become bloatware if we get to much of what we ask, and maybe more conflict problems. As Charyb and others here has said, the 2011 version was really nice in the features it had.
I do like your encouragement Charyb, including your post here on Requests, Bitdefender Trust of letting Bitdefender know your appreciation, as all these requests posted here (even though they created this forum category) could be a little discouraging to the developers, Bitdefender and Christian, of "what, aren't we doing anything right".....good for you0 -

Comparison is a good thing to improve the product quality. And like you I'm also in favor of Advanced and Customized Settings in Bitdefender and don't like the Auto Pilot and Paranoid Modes and the Silent Security and other users and me already suggested the same in our posts and topics. See below
