2017 uninstall tool didn't work

I followed the steps to update to 2018 version from here.

I ran the 2017 uninstall tool but after a reboot bitdefender's files were still on  system & system tray icon was greyed out. When trying to install the 2018 version (why is the options to specify custom install location not in the 2018 installer?) it wont install.


 


How am I supposed to remove the 2017 version considering the uninstall tool failed to remove it?

  • Finally got it sorted no thanks to support on here, 65 views but no replies. Can someone from Bitdefender please tell me why they removed the ability to use a custom install location from the installer?
