Hi guys, my first post here ...
can someone explain why i keep getting a pop-up alert message from Mcfee security people warning me of virus attack on my computer, yet Bitdefender shows no problem ? the only thing i have done recently is downloaded chrome browser, which i have since uninstalled . I have also uninstalled Mcfee from my system which used to be active 2 years ago .. but i'm still getting these alert warnings from them !

Additionally, you can follow below steps
1) Reset all your browsers
Google Chrome : https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/3296214?hl=en
Firefox : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/refresh-firefox-reset-add-ons-and-settings
Microsoft Edge : https://malwaretips.com/blogs/reset-microsoft-edge/
2) Restart PC in safe mode (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/start-your-pc-in-safe-mode-in-windows-92c27cff-db89-8644-1ce4-b3e5e56fe234)
3) Open run command again and run below command one by one :
temp ,delete all the files in the folder
%temp% ,delete all the files in folder
prefetch ,delete all the files in folder
4) Restart your PC in general mode by unticking the option that you selected to run the system in safe mode and then click apply.

Hi mrmirakhur, Apologies for the late reply, I followed your suggestions as best i could, first by uninstalling my browsers ( i had already uninstalled Mcafee ) and found that had sorted the problem. So many thanks for your hep much appreciated.
