How to disable Data Breach notifications?
This is for Windows 11. No, I don't want to disable ALL Bitdefender notifications, only this one.

Hi @beanbag
It sounds like you have Bitdefender Digital Identity Protection. If so, go into your Central account, to your Digital Identity Protection, and at the top, click on Data Breaches then uncheck the option to receive Email alerts.
I hope this helped to answer your question.

I don't think I subscribed to that. This is Windows 11 notification popups. I don't get emails.

What version of Bitdefender are you running, Total Security, Ultimate Security, etc.?

total security

Okay, thank you, beanbag. I just thought if you had Ultimate Security which includes Breach Monitoring, that it may display the pop-up differently with that version, other than an email alert. I've never gotten that pop-up from my Total Security before. Not sure if it's being done through a browser setting notification into Windows?
Maybe someone else here will have some idea regarding this.

Hello.
Open your Bitdefender Total Security program and go to Settings -> General and disable "Special offers" and "Recommendation notifications".
Next, it is recommended that you also review the privacy preferences set in your Bitdefender Central account:
1. On any internet-connected device launch a web browser, visit https://central.bitdefender.com and sign in to your Bitdefender Central account.
2. Click on your username in the top right corner and select "Bitdefender Account" in the menu. This option will launch in a new browser tab.
3. Access the "Data & Privacy" tab, then click on the "Privacy preferences" section.
4. Uncheck both boxes to stop promotional messages:
- Receive in product insights regarding threats, news, and offers.
- Receive insights regarding threats, news, and offers via email.
Regards.

@Gjoksi every time I've gone into Data and Privacy, I've only had one option, to Delete the account, and no Privacy preferences or promotional options to uncheck. What do you think is happening on my end? And the arrow on the right side brings me to a warning page of all that will happen if I delete my account.
Thanks, and kind regards, buddy :)

Hey, budyy.
I also have only that one option:
I remember that few months ago i talked to @Alexandru_BD about that, but he took a screenshot from his Bitdefender account with the other two options.
Then he promised that he will talk with the dev team about the issuse, because it was reported also by other users that they have only one option, to delete the account.
However, i believe that by the end of the year @Alexandru_BD will keep his promise and the issue will be solved.
Regards.

Inside the Bitdefender program, "Special offers" and "recommendation notifications" was already turned off.
On Bitdefender Central, there was also only the option to Delete Account. However, why should I even be going to Bitdefender Central on the web? This should only have to do with the Bitdefender program running on my Windows machine. I don't wish to sign up for any of this internet-wide monitoring of my presence. Well, anyways I suppose the last resort is to have Windows block ALL Bitdefender notifications at the system level, but I really don't want to have to do that.

As far as having to turn off notifications in our Central account, I agree. We shouldn't have one more place to disable BD Promotions (Product insights). Unless maybe it will just be more informative, as insights imply, but hopefully Alexandru will help to clue us in on what's coming up in the 4th quarter regarding that.
I know you disabled in the app, special offers and recommendations, but I thought I'd turn them on, just in case. This was the main one that popped up. I know it doesn't apply in your case, but I was curious just to see.

Hello,
I'll do my best to give you a bit more context regarding how the offers and email communication work. You have the so called "in-product notifications" that can be indeed disabled by turning off 'Special Offers' within the product itself. On the other hand, there is the communication that arrives via email and there is an unsubscribe button that cancels this. The unsubscribe button is not available for product features such as the weekly report for Digital Identity Protection for example, as this is part of the subscription benefits that alert and keep the user informed.
In regard to the 'Data & Privacy' options available in the Bitdefender account settings, I think the 'Privacy Preferences' option is displayed depending on the localization, because in some areas it is required by law to have such an additional setting there. However, users can unsubscribe or explicitly request for their email address to be removed from any future marketing communication by contacting the Support teams at any given time.
Concerning the notification in question, @beanbag as you have mentioned that this is a Windows 11 pop-up, can you post a screenshot displaying how it looks like, so we can know exactly where it comes from?

No, I don't have a screenshot because it went away.
It was a Data breach alert for Gravatar. Showed up in the lower right corner of my screen, with a drawing of a guy looking at a cell phone with an exclamation mark. Maybe it wasn't a Windows notification because I can't find a record of it. I can only find a record of it inside the Bitdefender program.

So, it looks like a record of a notification, but it doesn't belong to Bitdefender? 🙂
Thanks

????? YES it does belong to Bitdefender, why would you say no?

I understand now. It shouldn't come back again, at least not for a while. When and if it does, I would suggest to contact the Support engineers to ask them if it can be suppressed for good.
