tdsskiller.exe now blocked and exception not working
I rebooted today and after logging in, I got a warning that tdsskiller.exe was blocked and removed. This file is OK so I added an exception. Even with the exception, I can't run it. Bitdefender says
"Disinfection in progress. Detected threat is being disinfected. Please wait until the process is complete.".
Despite this message, the file is not removed. It won't run though. Exception doesn't seem to work. Nothing is logged in the notifications list. I've opened a ticket and waiting to hear back. Is anyone else having the problem and able to get an exception to work?

Hello.
I tried to download the .exe file from MajorGeeks and this is the notification i got:
Only the anti-malware researchers at Bitdefender Labs can help you with the issue.
You should report the file(s) as false positive to Bitdefender Labs here:
You could also share the VirusTotal link of the file(s) that was(were) detected to the malware researchers:

@Gjoksi I reported this issue two days ago, and the detection still exists. It seems the Bitdefender malware researchers are considering this as a potentially unwanted application (PUA), possibly because the website for Kaspersky TDSS Killer is still available. However, it does not download the software, instead, it redirects to different recovery tools provided by Kaspersky.

Confirm the Kaspersky link redirects to other recovery tools. Did Kaspersky stop supporting tdsskiller? Don't see it on the reidrected page.

Check out the below stated link
https://forum.kaspersky.com/topic/tdsskiller-download-link-not-working-35240/
As stated in the above Kaspersky forum link, Kaspersky employee has confirmed that Kaspersky TDSS Killer has reached the end of its life and has been replaced by Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool (KVRT). KVRT scans for both TDSS malware and all other malware. To ensure you are protected, make sure to download the latest version of KVRT regularly, as it is also a portable utility and lacks a built-in update option unlike the mainline product of Kaspersky.

I'll switch to KVRT. Thanks. I wouldn't say Bitdefender is perfect, so I like having the secondary scan. Used to run Malwarebytes until Bitdefender starting blocking it. Now they're blocking Kaspersky. Seems like Bitdefender is forcing themselves to be your exclusive security solution.

KVRT was available even when TDSS Killer was available. They both are kind of old tools.
