  • Hello @Stephen Renier,

Is this the first Outlook account that you are trying to add? I'm asking because there's also this scenario:

Now, I've seen this error being reported before on these pages, and I'm trying to understand the reason behind it.

  • Hello @Gobbilla,

It seems that this error message has been reported recently by a few members using Outlook, and my recommendation would be to get in touch with the Support teams, because they need to collect some logs from the product in order to find out exactly what is causing this error message. There's another closed discussion on this topic (same author), where I have provided the same advice:

  • I'm having the same error message as above. I've tried to add my Outlook over and over and still the same message.

  • Try clearing your browser cache and cookies or signing out and back into Outlook. If that doesn't work, reach out to your email provider for help.

  • Hello,

The source of the problem has been identified and the development team is trying to push an update in the coming days to fix it.

    Thank you for your patience.

  • With Bitdefender VPN on, I cannot check my mail in Outlook classic. This only seems to be a problem with outlook. So, In order to check my email, I have to turn off the VPN, check mail, and then turn the email back on.

  • Hi @umpastor,

This sounds like a different issue from the one that was reported here initially. See if this article helps:

    https://www.bitdefender.com/consumer/support/answer/30765/

Test all four steps from here and let us know what worked for you. In the event none of these instructions make a difference, I would recommend to contact the Support teams for a detailed investigation. Here's the link you can use to get in touch with them:

    https://www.bitdefender.com/consumer/support/help/

State your contact reason / choose request category, then choose from the available contact channels, chat, phone and email/ticket. Chat would be the fastest way to reach them.

  • Alex:

I have been working with Technical Support on this issue. The VPN has no effect on the problem. I have tried every conceivable solution at this point and await more help from Technical Support.
