Scam email?

Email received today from 'Bitedefender Digital Identity Protection'. warning of '8 new personal data on the dark web, and 10 new social media profiles'. Checking on Bitedefender Central there is no corresponding info. How to I forward this email to Bitdefender to confirm if it's a scam?

    ONLY Bitdefender staff can have access to your Bitdefender Central account, your devices, your payments/purchases and/or your subscription(s).
    So, you should contact Bitdefender Consumer Support by chat, telephone or e-mail:

    For additional information, you can check for data breaches associated with your email by visiting https://haveibeenpwned.com/, which maintains one of the largest collections of data breaches globally. However, kindly note that it does not offer real-time updates like Bitdefender Digital Identity Protection.

    If you find your email to be part of a breach on https://haveibeenpwned.com/, you should change the password of the affected account for the specific website, as this is the only solution.

    Please share with us the email address from which the communication was sent. Since you are using Digital Identity Protection, this provides you with real-time alerts, so you will be notified about identity theft attempts such as data breaches, account take-overs, and social media impersonations. Can you check if the information has been updated in Central as well, under the relevant Digital Identity Protection tab?
