Netgear Armor and Location

Hello Everyone,

I thought of switching over to Norton 360.

But I learned about Netgear Armor. It got me wondering since I use Bit Defender why not buy this and maybe continue using Bitdefender services?

Well it got my brain going:

If first of all if buying a router that does what Netgear Armor and Bitdefender Box do is worth the price overall?

What kind of modem is a good companion that focuses both on security and speed? Ive heard of Mikrotik, and something of PfSense and Opnsense for a firewall. Any thoughts on this

Can having a Netgear Armor subscription replace my current BD subscription and use it like my current subscription with all the suite has to offer? (I have BD Ultimate Security)

Changing subjects

Both Samsung and BD offer anti-theft measurements such as tracking devices and recovery. Which one is better BD or Samsungs?

  • Hello @King of the cats,

While I can't share an opinion on Mikrotik, PfSense and Opnsense, since I'm not familiar with these, I can tell you more about Netgear Armor.

This is basically one product to protect all your devices, across all platforms, powered by Bitdefender. In a nutshell, it provides advanced security features, including safe browsing, vulnerability assessment, device management and Bitdefender software protection for every device you own (Windows, macOS, Android, iOS). Find out more here:

    https://www.netgear.com/home/services/armor/

The Bitdefender and Netgear Armor subscriptions are separate, independent subscriptions.

For a Netgear Armor subscription, you can use and manage your account and products from the Netgear Armor hub: https://armor.netgear.com

For the Bitdefender subscription you can use and manage your account and products from the Bitdefender Central hub: https://central.bitdefender.com

Essentially, Netgear Armor automatically protect devices connected to your WiFi and Bitdefender provides on-the-go protection for your devices.

If you have Bitdefender Ultimate Security and wish to purchase Netgear Armor as well, I think it's best to reach out to Netgear Support to find out how the two can blend together:

In regard to the anti-theft measures for mobile devices, I think for users with Samsung devices the 'Find My Mobile' service is generally the better option due to its deeper integration, additional features, and ease of use. In essence, the features are very similar to each other. Samsung's feature is designed specifically for their devices, which can make it more user-friendly for Samsung owners compared to Bitdefender’s more generalized approach, which addresses a wider spectrum of devices running the Android operating system.
For users with devices from other brands, Bitdefender offers a robust and versatile set of anti-theft features that can be used across different devices and platforms.
But I think you can't go wrong with any of them, really.

    Regards,

    Alex
