I received an email with attached pdf claiming to be from bitdefender.
I received an email with attached pdf claiming to be a receipt from bitdefender. This pdf congratulated me on renewing my subscription (even though its not due for another 3 months). It also listed the amount as being $667, which is far higher than my actual subscription. I didn't click on any links but did open the pdf in the browser. Should i be concerned? No suspicious activity on my banking accounts. See scn grab attached. Mark

Hi @4mtrmw
It's just spam. With all of the hacking of corporate accounts (in my case AT&T, my business supply vendor, my mortgage company) our emails are out here. I got a couple emails from my bank the other day with some off the wall email address like yours shows, that I promptly reported as spam from the Gmail toolbar.
Downloading the pdf may have been a different story, or defiantly opening any link in it would be very concerning. They probably included it to make it look more official.
Whenever I see these, I don't even open them, but just delete them or report them as spam. You can hover your cursor over the sender to see where it came from, to confirm it's spam, and delete it from there.
We just need to be watchful and alert. Check out this post from the top of this sub forum Announcement, for some helpful tips.
Kind regards.

Hi,
Clearly a phishing attempt. Scammers will usually send spam emails and try to mimic the email address of the company they are impersonating, but it this particular case they didn't even bother and the email was sent from a random gmail address. Their tactics are based on the feeling of urgency and curiosity of the user reading the email. Such emails usually include links that are designed to steal your personal documents and bank details, or may install malware on your device.
Here you can find more information on this type of scam, and ways to protect yourself against them:And since it mentions Bitdefender, this article is also relevant:
