Amazon Prime Video blocks Bitdefender VPN
How do I use Bitdefender VPN to see videos on Amazon Prime. I want to see videos from the USA Amazon Prime, but since I am temporarily staying in the Philippines it restricts the videos I can see outside of the USA. If I connect to a VPN in the USA, then Amazon Prime Video totally blocks me from seeing any videos. The videos available outside the USA are limited and mostly titles from India, not what I want to watch. Bitdefender needs to fix this issue so Amazon doesn't block it.

Hello @jf2good,
I'll jump in here with a bit more context.
Certain websites practice geo-blocking as a way of limiting access based on the user’s geographical location. Geo-blocking is done by identifying the IP address. Therefore, as a first troubleshooting method, change your VPN server to obtain a new IP and potentially bypass the restriction (in the event you are using Premium VPN).
As you may know, some platforms have implemented a system to detect VPNs and do not load or display errors if the Internet connection is filtered through a VPN, so there are no guarantees they can be accessed with a VPN connection, but you can apply some of the standard troubleshooting steps like:
- try other servers
- disable adblocker and antitracker
- a flushdns
- try another browser
- try another device, such as mobile
If these don't make a difference, then it's highly possible that Amazon Prime is blocking the actual VPN connection and there's not much Bitdefender can do to prevent that.. this is not something they can fix if the streaming platform has ways of detecting and blocking a VPN altogether.
Another option may be to change the protocol. Try to set IPsec or Wireguard in the settings of the VPN application.Regards,
