Any way to deal with frequent sendgrid/twilio warnings which seem to be a scam
I keep getting warning emails about login attempts sent by sendgrid to me. These attempts seem to be generated all over the world. As far as I know I do not have a sendgrid account. the message I get is
Are these messages real, from an account that I might have and not know about?
Should I be concerned or just delete them
How do I go about mitigating the problem.

Hello @Danbpc,
This is definitely a phishing email/scam. The first red flag is the email source, then you have that 'asdfasdf' on top of the email body which looks like something that was typed randomnly on a keyboard. In most cases, such emails are sent by cyber criminals who attempt to steal sensitive information. In this scenario, we are obviously talking about login details. Such emails could end up being sent to people who actually have an account there, so if they are unsuspecting and they click on 'review login', their credentials and who knows what else will be stolen.
In this way, the scammers attempt to steal sendgrid accounts and misuse them for malicious purposes (e.g., to make fraudulent purchases, sell stolen accounts to third parties).
Many people use identical usernames and passwords for multiple accounts and, therefore, entering login credentials into that fake website can result in loss of access to other personal accounts as well.
To protect yourself, the first rule is to never click on any links, cta buttons or anything like that when your receive a suspicious email. If an email comes out of the blue and claims to have been sent from a legitimate company, reach out to the respective company using their official contact channels available on their website and NOT the ones that are displayed in the suspicious email. Learn about best practices against phishing from the article shared by TaxiMagicien42 above and try the Antispam filter in Bitdefender.
I hope this helps. And thank you for sharing your findings with the community. 👍️

Thanks for the response.
I already do the most important thing, have a unique password for every login.
I guess I was trying to ask how to train the anti-spam filter. When I click on the bitdefender button in my thunderbird that it is a spam email, it asks to choose email address or domain name under spammers. Is the spam filter collecting a list of bad email addresses, and a list of bad domains, or does it learn to recognize the content of spam emails and block them?
I believe Thunderbird's spam filter does do some content recognition in the process of marking spam emails

Hello @Danbpc
Thank you for your feedback.
Personally, I don’t use thunderbird and therefore I know little about how it works.
Regarding the functionality of Bitdefender Anti-Spam I refer you to the article of Bitdefender support that I communicated in my previous answer.Regards,

To add here, whenever you suspect a spam/malicious/phishing link, the most commonly used tool to check those is VirusTotal.com, where you can scan them with multiple antimalware vendors. That being said, Bitdefender has also developed an AI-based tool called Scamio to help identify spam/malicious/phishing links. The scan performed on VirusTotal uses signature-based detection created by malware researchers, which includes the Bitdefender engine. However, Bitdefender Scamio is independent of VirusTotal and operates entirely based on AI.
You should check it out. It is available as a website and can be integrated with WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger. Below is the link for it.

The Bitdefender Antispam Engine incorporates cloud protection and other several different filters. The antispam filters are pre-configured for efficient protection. The cloud detection makes use of the Bitdefender Cloud services to provide you with efficient and always up-to-date antispam protection. The cloud protection functions as long as you keep Bitdefender Antispam enabled.
Keep in mind that Bitdefender’s spam filter won’t work with:
- email accounts you access through a web browser
- email applications that use IMAP or Exchange instead of POP3/SMTP
If you use a web browser to check for emails or if your email application or email account does not support the POP3 protocol, Bitdefender can’t intercept spam. However, if you accidentally open an infected email attachment, Bitdefender will still protect your computer from cyber threats. In such cases, to avoid receiving unwanted spam emails, it’s recommended to use your email provider’s built-in spam filter. This feature can automatically detect and move spam emails to the Spam or Junk folder, keeping your inbox clean.
I hope this also helps.
