ADSPower Browser flagged as trojan ?!

Hello there, today I started using my pc normally, I used ADSPower for a couple of months and never had issue nor detections, today, without even opening it Bitdefender notified me with "we are cleaning an infected resource" I click on it and then, boom ADSPowser, is possible that an antidetection browser, under a registered company, which works with paid plans has trojan built in?

Do you think this is a false positive? How can I know that? Thanks!

You can send the file to the Malware Research Team, but since the online forum only supports file attachments up to 25 MB and the software file in question is over 200 MB, the forum admin @Alexandru_BD can share the hash (4945f83566ee2c6bbed8b1e7579397100e92f999c78a00d03be59bf22b4b85c8) with the Malware Research Team when he returns on Monday.

Additionally, when checking the hash for both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of the software, Bitdefender only detects the 64-bit version as malicious, while the 32-bit version is considered safe. Even if Bitdefender removes the detection for the software, it might create a detection again in the future, as it is classified as a riskware app by other vendors on VirusTotal.

Until the file/hash gets analyzed, kindly add the file to the exclusion list of your Bitdefender product.

    1) Temporarily disable Bitdefender Protection: https://www.bitdefender.com/consumer/support/answer/28557/

    2) Set exclusions in Bitdefender Antivirus: https://www.bitdefender.com/consumer/support/answer/13427/

    3) Set exclusions in Bitdefender Advanced Threat Defense: https://www.bitdefender.com/consumer/support/answer/2393/

    4) Re-enable real-time protection in Bitdefender.

  • Hello @youngestmoonstar,

Shared the hash, but was advised this will take some time and also more information from you.

Going forward, I recommend the following:

    1. use the form available at this link below to submit a sample: https://www.bitdefender.com/consumer/support/answer/29358/
    2. get in touch with Bitdefender Support and provide them with a screenshot of the detection + a BDsysLog.

This article shows how to use the BDsysLog scan utility on Windows computers:

To contact the Support teams, choose one of the contact channels listed here:

    https://www.bitdefender.com/consumer/support/help/

State your contact reason / choose request category, then choose from the available contact channels, chat, phone and email/ticket. Chat would be the fastest way to reach them.

Let us know how it goes.
