The icon in the system tray and the security widget are gone even though I have the setting "on." Is there an easy fix?
Me too - recently (last few days).
Windows 11, version 24H2
Firefox 133.0.3
Likely a result of the most recent update. Hopefully Bitdefender can help us without the 20 step fix I’ve seen in old posts.
Really not happy with this response.
I expect BD to have checked out updates, and it I do not believe it is up to the customer to be uninstalling (across multiple devices) and reinstalling the program because of insufficient diligence by BD. This is not the first time that the widget has been susceptible to upgrades (and dismissal by BD). I have had a PC for decades, and am not a novice, but the solution you have offered is not one I am happy with.
BD needs to up its game!
While I agree with Stonebridge that updates should be cleaner and fixes easier, I followed these instructions and they restored my widget and icon in the system tray.
Just to update. I did nothing to try and rectify the situation of the missing component, but today Dell did a system BIOS update and, on rebooting after the update, the Widget returned.
Same problem here - no widget. I really don't want to go through the palaver of Steps 1, 2, 3 etc., take a screen shot, spin round three times and pray.
I did nothing and on the next update by Dell the widget returned without intervention by me. Not Ideal, I know, but you could wait for a month or so and see if it rights itself.
The widgets stability appears fragile!
