Odd issues with Bitdefender total security
I bought Bitdefender 3 years ago, and never regretted it.
But now, I am having regular problems with a) navigating it and b) connecting to the internet
Navigation
In Protection features in Security Central, there is a (very thin) scroll bar which does what it should. Because I am trying to find out why I am having problems with connecting to the internet on Firefox, I want to look at what the firewall is doing with it. Under protection features I can scroll up and down to find Firewall.
In firewall settings I can see in the small window the first 6 apps and a thin scroll bar. This scroll bar does not allow scrolling on my machine, but moves the window about on the screen. I cannot get access to the apps lower down on the window.
If I click the down arrows beside the apps that I can see, nothing happens.
Connectivity
It is very frequent now that I have no connection to the internet. I have used Wifi for years on my laptop, and the signal is decent where I work in my home. However I often get no connection on wifi or on LAN. This is worse since the last update of Bitdefender.
Windows troubleshooter occasionally is successful by resetting my Wifi board and restarting my laptop, but often finds no problem or cannot resolve the issue.
It may not even be BD that is causing the problem, but I suspect it because of the significant worsening after the update and the fact that its functionality appears ineffective.
Some advice would be welcome.
Many thanks

Hello @Neodynium,
If you are referring to the scroll bar available in the Protection → Firewall → Application access tab as illustrated below, then yes, this should work like the one from the main menu or any other UI menu for that matter. Albeit thin, you can use it to scroll vertically through the allowed apps and rules as well. For me, it works as intended and the arrow next to each allowed app can be clicked to expand more information about the respective app that has been allowed and its rules, so not really sure why it doesn't work as expected on your end..
You could try the repair procedure illustrated in the article below and check if the scroll bar resumes functionality as it should:
You could also test your scrolling speed with your mouse wheel for other apps and while browsing, to see if the mouse is working properly. Bear in mind that the UI also allows scrolling vertically usign the keyboard arrows.
For what it's worth, one of our members previously posted a suggestion in the ideation section about improving this scroll bar by making it a little thicker and therefore easier to grab, especially when using the touchpad on laptops:
In regard to the connectivity issue you are experiencing, there are a couple of things you can try to find out if Bitdefender interferes in any way with your network connection. First, check if the connectivity issue persists with the Firewall disabled. If it does, re-activate the Firewall and go to Network Adapters tab and set the network type to Home/Office using the drop-down menu near its name. Then, from the same Firewall Tab, click on Settings from the top-right , then, for the network you're currently connected to, uncheck the stealth mode button to disable it. If the internet connection is still unavailable, go to Firewall → choose Rules tab → select Reset Rules. Then restart Windows and check if the issue is resolved. Please tell me if you are using a VPN as well.
Let me know how it goes.
