B.D. Scans should show Estimated time for the scans

If B.D. scans displayed the estimated scan completion time within the scan options (before initiating any scan), it would significantly assist users in scheduling scans according to their convenience. B.D. should continuously estimate the estimated time considering system files to provide users with an accurate prediction of the scan duration.
Estimated time ll be best fit under the scan names:

Displaying both the estimated time remaining for the scan and the percentage of scan completion is not feasible to implement in the scanning option. This is due to the dynamic nature of the scanning process, which depends on factors such as file size, type, location, and real-time system performance. These variables can fluctuate significantly during the scan, making it challenging to provide accurate estimations or percentages.

This feature request, including the percentage of scan completion, has been shared by me in the past with the Bitdefender developers via Bitdefender Support and also with @camarie on the forum.

Hence, the Bitdefender developers have decided that this feature will not be implemented.

@Flexx okay, thx for updating , anyhow i ve seen this feature in other a.v.

  • While some antimalware solutions still retain this feature, others have discontinued it due to the reasons mentioned above. For instance, ESET previously offered this feature but later removed it. When I inquired about this on the ESET forum, the forum administrator explained the rationale behind its removal, citing similar concerns.
