How do I update Bitdefender antivirus

Hello @drvancampen

I'll take it that you just happen to pick the VPN sub forum, but here is how you can manually update and adjust the Antivirus update settings.

For Windows, you can right click the system tray icon and click Update Now. You can also adjust the update interval by going to the main app Settings on the lower left side Settings → Update and it will automatically update from the settings, hour interval you choose.

Does it update in the background automatically?

Bitdefender updates its virus definitions daily, but major version updates happen about once every four weeks.
The software automatically updates itself every hour after you start your computer.
To manually update Bitdefender to the most recent version, or to check if a new product version is available to you, simply follow the steps described by Scott above. 🙂
