Two or more security apps in one device

Dears,
I have two mobile security apps on my device.
For example, if I have (Bitdefender Mobile Security) & (Norton Mobile Security) on my mobile, is there a problem with the device?

Hello,
Yes, that will be and is an issue in having 2 security apps running at the same time on your phone. It will increase the likelihood of instability (glitches) and will hinder the full performance of your AV security (2 AV's competing against each other).
You'll also drain the battery a lot quicker. Uninstall one, and just use one or the other, as per your preference of the AV app and its features. I don't use Bitdefender Mobile Security, so I don't know how they compare. @Flexx or @Gjoksi could tell you more.
Kind regards

Hello.
As i can see on the internet, Bitdefender Mobile Security and Norton Mobile Security have (almost) the same features, just in different names, so i would uninstall Norton Mobile Security and use only Bitdefender Mobile Security.
Also, i have only Bitdefender Mobile Security installed on my 3 (three) Android phones and never had any malware related issues on them.
Regards.

Having two security apps like Bitdefender and Norton on your mobile device isn't ideal.
These issues can happen:
- Your phone might run slower
- Your battery will drain faster
- The apps might conflict with each other
- You'll get twice as many notifications
In today's world, almost all antimalware solutions detect nearly every piece of malware, with only minor differences in signature databases between different products. However, choosing Bitdefender Mobile Security over Norton Mobile Security has a major advantage—Bitdefender mobile security for Android is cloud-based and does not store malware signatures on the smartphone itself.
Cloud scanning ensures that the latest threats are updated in real time, making the scanning process faster and more efficient. In contrast, as far as I know, Norton stores signatures locally on the smartphone, meaning updates occur at fixed time intervals, just like any other traditional antimalware software. This could lead to slight delays in detecting newly emerging threats.
Thus, Bitdefender Mobile Security cloud-based approach offers better real-time protection while keeping resource usage minimal, making it a smarter choice for Android users.

My last two questions:
1) Does Bitdefender Mobile Security protect mobile devices from hacking, or is there another app that specializes in this?
2) Does Bitdefender Mobile Security view my private files, such as documents, photos, and videos, or does it only scan their data?

Does the Bitdefender Mobile Security protect mobile devices from hacking, or is there another app that specializes in this?
Bitdefender Mobile Security is a comprehensive solution designed to protect mobile devices from a wide range of cyber threats, including hacking attempts. It features real-time malware detection, web protection against phishing and fraudulent websites, and network threat prevention, ensuring robust defense against unauthorized access and malicious activities.
While Bitdefender offers extensive security measures, you may also consider additional specialized applications based on your specific requirements. For example, a dedicated VPN such as Bitdefender VPN can enhance privacy and security on public networks, while a password manager like Bitdefender Password Manager provides a secure solution for storing and managing credentials effectively.
Does the Bitdefender Mobile Security view my private files, such as documents, photos, and videos, or does it only scan their data?
Bitdefender Mobile Security scans your device to detect and eliminate malware, ensuring the safety of your files while maintaining your privacy. It does not access or view the actual contents of your private files, such as documents, photos, or videos. The scanning process is designed to protect your data without compromising confidentiality.
To perform its security functions effectively, Bitdefender may require certain permissions on your device. These permissions enable essential features such as malware scanning and web protection. However, granting these permissions does not grant Bitdefender access to your personal content; rather, it allows the application to operate correctly and safeguard your device.

To add here, in regard to the permissions required by Mobile Security to function, here's an overview:
- Internet access: used for cloud communication.
- Read phone state and identity: used to detect if the device is connected to the internet and to extract certain device info needed to create a unique ID when communicating with Bitdefender cloud.
- Read and write browser bookmarks: The Web Protection module deletes malicious sites from your browsing history.
- Read log data: Bitdefender Mobile Security detects traces of threat activities from the Android logs.
- Location: required for remote location.
- Camera: required for Snap photo.
- Storage: used to allow the Malware Scanner to check the SD card.
You didn't mention whether you use Android or iOS, but these usually apply to both.
Like everyone here said, it's definitely not a good idea to have multiple security solutions running on the same device. This will not make your device more secure anyway.
