Antivirus 2009 Update Problem

Week ago I installed Bitdefender Antivirus 2009 on my laptop and in last two days my Bitdefender Antivirus has not been able to perform an upgrade.

I tried both solution

1) Start-run.services.msc, etc...

2) Installing "update_unavailable_patch"

Nothing helped. I don't have any firewall and I even tried to disable windows integrated firewall.

I even did Bitdefender free online scan and it showed that my laptop is virus free.

Then I scanned for malware and spyware with two additional programs and it showed that computer is clean.

I downloaded update file manually but this is only temporary solution.

Internet connection is "clean", no proxy.

If I try to reinstall Bitdefender, will I lose my right to register since I already registered this product?

Or any other solution, please?

I can give you screenshoot of all setting - they are same as they were always.

Now, the question ins what should I do?

Will I loose license if I reinstall it again or there is some simple solution?

Hello, i've a similar problem. I've 15 same computers but with two, the update doesn't works : i've got and 404 error.

It's seem it's the "pc_pornography.dat" file which block the update.

I've try the Update-unavailable-patch, it's the same. The update work (with 100 % of progress and about 5400 ko) but at the end, i have the 404 error. The file "pc_pornography.dat" seem to be odwnload several times and it's the last file listed on the update.

Thanks in advance for your help

  • i've got the same problem with my IS 2009 the update starts with no problems and downloads files up to a cretin point where it just stops and throws away all the files it has downloaded. the first step i took was to se if the services.msc is started, and it was. then i downloaded the update_unavailable_patch but with this patch installed my BD won't even open, i get a message telling me (The BitDefender security service (vsserv.exe) is unavailable at the moment)..

    plz help

  • Hello ShaDow_58,

The patch that you ran on the system was for a different issue, one where the update module is unavailable and grayed out where no options can be selected:

At the moment my recommendation would be to run a Repair for BitDefender by using Start - All Programs - BitDefender 2009 - Repair .

Then try to update again after the restart.

Let me know how it goes.
