Suddenly Slow

Options

Running BitDefender 2010 and all has been fine for nearly a year until now. Don't know why but about a week ago my computer started coming to a screeching slow down, cpu at 100% and vsserve.exe seems to be the culprit. This is eating up over 50% of resources. How can I get this resolved?

Thanks

  • Hello,

    Hello,

Please follow the steps below and send me the generated log file:

    1. Download this file:

    http://www.bitdefender.com/files/Knowledge...ile/sysdump.exe

    2. Locate and open 'Sysdump.exe'

    3. A command prompt window will appear on your screen. Please note that the information gathering process can take several minutes therefore please wait until the window disappear by itself.

    4. The result will be the file called 'SYSDUMP.TAR'

    5. When you have the sysdump.tar please upload it HERE

    6. Include a DETAILED description of the issue you encounter: reproduce the steps you take until the issue occur and, if possible, enclose a screenshot of any error message you receive.

    7. Send me a PM (Private Message) with the download link and one for the topic you started.

kicksyc - First, welcome to the forum :)

If the link you are referring to is the one Daniel posted: http://www.bitdefender.com/files/Knowledge...ile/sysdump.exe it does not open a web page, it downloads the sysdump.exe file to your PC. What OS and web browser are you using, because that may make a difference. I am using IE8 on Win7 x64 and clicking on the link gives me the file download dialog box where I click on 'Save' to actually download the file. If you use a different browser, it may behave differently.

Also, do you have any other security program installed on your PC - antivirus, malware, spyware, firewall, phishing, etc.? That seems to be a very common reason for vsserv.exe to be using a lot of CPU cycles. Which BD product do you have installed - antivirus, internet security, total security?
