Windows 7 Taking A Long Time To Shutdown
Hi,
I'm using BitDefender on a Windows 7 box, when selecting Restart or Shutdown the system will take a long time before shutting down. Viewing the Event Viewer there is an error coming from BitDefender which I believe is causing the issue:
A timeout (30000 milliseconds) was reached while waiting for a transaction response from the VSSERV service.
Can you please advise?

Hi Mihaela,
Thats quite a sales gimmik. instead of fixing issue in your 2010 product, you are asking you existing cutomer (maybe on 2-3 years lisecnce) to buy another product.
Take this. I too have Windows 7 (32 bit) and bought BitDefenfer 2011 Nov Last Year. I am facing same problem:
1. VSSERV.exe suddenly locks many files in \user\appdata\local\temp indifinately.
3. VSSERV.exe hogs too much of CPU (40% or more) for prolonged period
2. I am getting the error "A timeout (30000 milliseconds) was reached while waiting for a transaction response from the VSSERV.exe" service.
Its over 3 months I moved away from McAfee due to poor Malware detection and resource hogging. Now I repent spenfding my money on BitDefender.
Can I get my money back ?0 -
Did you not see the word "FREE" upgrade? The 2011 BD products are the ones most actively maintained by the BD developers and the most likely to have problems corrected in short order.
However many days you have left on your 2010 BD product will be carried over when you install the 2011 version. You don't have to "buy" anything until your current subscription runs out.
