Blue Screen Of Death When Syncing Iphone/ipad

Yesterday i installed BitDefender AntiVirus 2011 PRO. First time I synced my iphone i got the blue screen of death. I can only assume it's b/c of installing BD since it worked perfectly before this.

I've tried a different USB port but no lcuk....Same thing with my iPad as well. Any ideas on how to resolve this?

  • Hello,

    1. Download this file:

    http://www.bitdefender.com/files/Knowledge...ile/sysdump.exe

    2. Locate and open 'Sysdump.exe'

    3. A command prompt window will appear on your screen. Please note that the information gathering process can take several minutes therefore please wait until the window disappear by itself.

    4. The result will be the file called 'SYSDUMP.TAR'

    5. When you have the sysdump.tar please upload it HERE

    6. Include a DETAILED description of the issue you encounter: reproduce the steps you take until the issue occur and, if possible, enclose a screenshot of any error message you receive.

    7. Send me a PM (Private Message) with the download link and one for the topic you started.

    Next please go to:

    C:\Windows\Minidump

and put all files listed in the folder in an archive using WinRAR or WinZIP. If the archive is too big, upload it on a file sharing server of your choice (such as http://www.sendspace.com or http://www.mediafire.com) and send me the download link by email.

    Looking forward to your answer!

Danydan....thanks for the response. I tried your instructions and after running the Sysdump.exe, i couldn't find the SYSDUMP.TAR. I did a system wide search on that and nothing came back. FYI, Sysdump.exe took 15 mins or longer before it completed and the command prompt window closed....after that I couldn't find that tar file. I had to go into the office so I will try again hopefully tonight when i get home from work. I will let you know my results.

    Thanks!

  • Hi,

The file sysdump.tar should be located on your Desktop. If you can't find it, create a new folder on the desktop and then run the sysdump.exe file again. Make sure you select "Run as Administrator". Yes, the command prompt window may take several minutes until it will disappear from the screen, this is normal to happen.

  • Thanks! I didn't run as admin. This time it worked. I sent you a PM with info

    Appreciate the help!

  • Danydan...any ideas? Getting a bit frustrated i can't sync my iphone/ipad.

    Thanks

    Dave

  • Hi Dave,

Finished analyzing the logs. I have found Windows Family Safety installed and its driver running. Please uninstall Windows Essentials from Add/Remove Programs then restart the PC. Let me know if the same issue occurs.

  • Daniel,

I tried your suggestion but no luck. I completely removed windows essentials, rebooted and tried it again. Same result...blue screen.

I PM"d you with details to help you troubleshoot.

    Thanks

    Dave

  • The only way out is to hard restart.  Press shutdown and home button down for at least 10 seconds. It may help you to fix iPad blue screen of death.
