    Hello

I had the same problem as you. To clean the "Bitdefender Rescue Mode" in the Bootloader, just follow these steps:

    1. Hit the Windowskey+R and type regedit

    2. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\BCD00000000\Objects\

    3. Search for "Bitdefender"

    4. There should be something like "Bitdefender Rescue Mode". In my case, the location was {bdbdbd00-6057-11e0-a7f3-ce9adfd72085}\Elements\xxxxxxxx

The xxxxxxx stand for a number which I can't remember right now

    5. Right click on {bdbdbd00-6057-11e0-a7f3-ce9adfd72085} -> Permissions

    6. Add your username and give yourself all permissions

    7. Delete {bdbdbd00-6057-11e0-a7f3-ce9adfd72085}.

The {bdbdbd00-6057-11e0-a7f3-ce9adfd72085} might be not exactly the same on your computer, just search for Bitdefender (Steps 2 + 3) and you will find the right name.

Now I recommend to delete all other folders, which were not deleted by the removal tool, but this isn't neccessary, just recommended by me if you want to delete Bitdefender completely. Do the following if you are using Windows Vista or Windows 7:

    1. Open the explorer

    2. Delete Bitdefender folders in %AppData%

    3. Delete Bitdefender folders in C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Local

    4. Delete Bitdefender folders in C:\ProgramData

    5. Delete Bitdefender folders in C:\ProgramFiles or/and C:\ProgramFiles(x86)

    6. Delete Bitdefender folders in C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files or/and C:\Program Files\Common Files

Note: This is the path used by Bitdefender Rescue Mode.

    7. Delete every registry key with containing Bitdefender in its name

"Bitdefender Rescue Mode" should be gone.

Hope this helps. I am not working for Bitdefender, but I hope you will trust me anyway.

    Hello :)

    Thank you for the feedback!

The Uninstall Tool was updated recently and it should properly remove all the leftovers now.

Bitdefender Uninstall Tool can be downloaded from here:

    http://www.bitdefender.com/uninstall

Access the link and when the window with the BitDefender file appears, please choose the "Save to disk" option. Save the tool on the PC, run it(right click and select "Run as administrator" - for Windows Vista/7) and restart the computer when prompted.

    Take care.
