So I got bitdefender because it was nicely rated, and free with a rebate. I assumed I would like a full version of an antivirus more than avira free.
I'm running Win7 Ultimate SP1, fully updated.
So the first thing bitdefender did was when I ran a program, it decided it was sketchy, and gave me a popup, and I then clicked "allow and monitor".
Now it says the action taken was "The process was granted execution rights upon user request".
The exe is now hidden, and bitdefender changed my view folder settings to not see hidden files(Neither radio box is checked, but I cannot see hidden files elsewhere on my computer).
I don't have rights to the exe, so I can't get a new version of the program(In the same directory).
I don't know the windows command line well enough to force myself to have permisions and it not be hidden, nor do I care to learn. THe only reason I"m still running windows as a main is games don't have linux support yet. But it's coming.
So my question is: Is it worth it at this point to just drop bitdefender for the next few years till I can move to xubuntu as a main OS, or is this easily fixable?
