VPN Error Code 1011 - Unable to connect (21May19)

I've been unable to connect Bitdefender VPN, receiving error code 1011.  I tried pinging the update server (IP_updateserver7074) as recommended (https://www.bitdefender.com/support/troubleshooting-bitdefender-endpoint-security-error-message-1011-during-an-update-2004.html), but it times out.


Does anyone know what's going on?

    Hi LeoC4,


    In case you have any 3rd party Firewall which may block the VPN connection, we recommend you to configure the Firewall so that it allows the connection. In case there is not Firewall which blocks the connection, please try to reinstall the VPN and check if you can connect:


    1. Press the Windows key (located between CTRL and ALT) and the R key together on your keyboard.

    2. Type appwiz.cpl in the command box that appears and press Enter.

    3. This will bring up Programs and Features in Control Panel. Locate Bitdefender VPN in the list, right click on it and choose Uninstall.

    4. A wizard will appear. Choose Reinstall by clicking on the button.

    5. Reboot your PC when asked

    6. Open Bitdefender -> go to Privacy -> click on Install VPN and follow the on-screen steps.

    Whatever caused the problem (unable to connect to the update server) went away.  I didn't need to do anything.
