Full system scan time

So my system has been scanning for 86 hours now. I ma sure this is not normal as my laptop is complete in about 45 minutes. It is newer with hardly any files. My desktop is 4 years old but all I have are basic utilities. No videos or music files just office and such with everything up to date. I am thinking that because the computer shuts down while in the scan that is what the time reflects. I do not use the desktop everyday. When I log on the scan is still running. Is it running while hibernating or off too? Should the system shut down while the scan is running?

is this common issue for system scan? My system scan still not being successful so far. Randomly stuck at random location and freeze the Windows afterward.0
