Updates are now disconnecting me from online game

Since the past few weeks (Sept 2021) the updates cause me to lose my connection to the online game Runescape. I check the timestamps for the updates and they correspond exactly to when I lose the connection to the game. Can someone please help me on how to prevent this from happening?
