Repeated FAILURES Attempting Bitdefender on my HP Laptop Running Windows 11...

Downloading & launching the Bitdefender installation executable is easy. The installation then fades into the ether...

First, I changed browsers, thinking that my Mozilla Firefox Browser might not be supported, so I installed Microsoft Edge & witnessed the same failure during installation.

Presently, it's my suspicion that my 64-bit Windows 11 operating system isn't yet fully supported by Bitdefender.

Any ideas regarding viable next steps toward installing Bitdefender?

Perhaps my ExpressVPN is confusing the installations...

    Hello.

    -- STEP 1 --

Repair Bitdefender, by following these steps:

    https://www.bitdefender.com/consumer/support/answer/13429/

    -- STEP 2 --

If the instructions from Step 1 didn't help, uninstall the Bitdefender program using the Uninstall Tool.

For Bitdefender Paid version click here:

    https://www.bitdefender.com/links/uninstall_consumer_paid.html

For Bitdefender Trial version click here:

    https://www.bitdefender.com/links/uninstall_consumer_trial.html

It will completely remove the program.

Next, reinstall Bitdefender from your Bitdefender Central account and see if the issue has been solved, as reinstalling the program usually solves the issues.

    -- STEP 3 --

If the instructions from Step 2 didn't help, follow the instructions in this step.

First, take screenshot(s) of the issue

and create a log file on your Windows device using Bitdefender Support Tool, by following these steps:

    https://www.bitdefender.com/consumer/support/answer/1733/

Next, contact Bitdefender Consumer Support by e-mail:

    https://www.bitdefender.com/consumer/support/help/

with short description of the issue.

After that, you will get an automated reply by the Bitdefender Customer Care Team, with your ticket number.

Now, in reply to that automated reply, you can send the screenshot(s) you already took and the log file you already created in the first step.

Since you are all done, just wait for the support engineers to investigate your issue and find a solution to fix the issue.

Remember that the screenshot(s) and the log file will help a lot to the support engineers for better and faster investigation on your issue and finding a solution.

    Regards.

  • Hello @Rodney.E.Musselman and welcome to Bitdefender and the Community!

Do you receive any error message during the installation process? Are there any other security solutions installed on the device? I would recommend disabling the VPN as a first step. For reference, the system requirements are detailed below:

Operating System: Windows 7 with Service Pack 1, Windows 8.1, Windows 10 and Windows 11

    Memory (RAM): 2 GB

Available free hard disk space: 2.5 GB free space

    * System performance may be affected on devices that have old generation CPUs

SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS: Internet Explorer version 11

If the system requirements are met and no other security solutions are installed on the device where you wish to install Bitdefender, check for error messages:

For example, "Downloading one of the installation files failed" or "Some installation files are corrupted" OR "There was a problem downloading one of the installation files" or "make sure that an Internet connection is available and try again." These usually mean there was an issue with your internet connection and the kit wasn't downloaded completely. Click the Retry button from the error message, if available.

Make sure the Bitdefender Agent is installed on the system. Check the article below as well, it might be relevant:

    https://www.bitdefender.com/consumer/support/answer/13163/

If this doesn't work and you receive the error message "Downloading one of the installation files failed", turn OFF Windows Firewall or any other firewall application.

    2. Clear browser cache.

    3. Delete the corrupted kit from downloads.

    4. Type %temp% in the Search bar from Windows and delete the temporary files.

    5. Try downloading and installing the kit again.

There can be multiple reasons behind a failed installation and it's important to know what message is being displayed when this happens, as this would help identify the root cause.

Please note that you should also log on the computer using an Administrator account, then try again to install Bitdefender.

Let us know what worked for you and if the installation process could be carried out successfully.
