Extra characters

When I switch on the computer first thing in a morning, I click on Microsoft edge and load google.co.uk, I get extra characters at the end of the google search address, is this normal? and how can I get rid of the extra characters? I would appreciate and help and information about my query, many thanks.

Can you post a screenshot displaying these extra characters? I'm not sure what could be causing this, but I don't think the search element can be influenced by the antivirus, at least not based on the available information.

Thank you so much for your reply, I don't know how to take a screen shot, but I have written the problem down and this is what appears, https://www.google.co.uk/?gws_rd=ssl I have googled what this means, and I have discovered it has something to do with website certificates and securing information sent. I am not really experienced with this, and I was just concerned it could be something potentially harmful.
