Hi everyone,
I thought it would be a nice idea if you could add a folder to the firewall custom rules, instead of just specific executable files.
Any chance we could see this?
Cheers

+1 on this feature.
I believe this feature has been requested since 2013 but somehow its been ignored or they were unable to add it.

Hoping to see this in the next version.
Meanwhile can we turn off the Bitdefender firewall and use Windows Defender Firewall instead?
Thanks
Hi @tiana2023,
I think there are good reasons behind not having the option to add entire folders to the firewall rules, and these have to do with potential vulnerabilities. A folder exclusion will apply to all subfolders within theĀ folder as well, and it's not always a good idea to bundle things together. Anyway, that's my take on this.
Once Bitdefender is installed, Windows Defender is deactivated, so its firewall cannot be used instead.

I would also love this feature. I am often using Alert Mode and it would be very nice to add a rule allowing System32 (unless a specific rule about an executable says otherwise)
+1 from me.
Adding an entire folder could potentially help to troubleshoot or have a temporary workaround if the firewall has an issue with an app?
